Synopsis:

Putri Mia kembali ke negara asalnya untuk menjadi ratu namun terhalang oleh parlemen yang mengharuskan seorang wanita menikah untuk bisa menjadi ratu padahal neneknya, Ratu Clarisse Renaldi, sudah memerintah tanpa suami cukup lama. Hal ini juga dimanfaatkan Viscount Mabrey untuk menjadikan keponakannya, Nicholas Devereaux, raja, yaitu dengan cara menikahkannya dengan Mia.
Sementara itu, Mia dengan terpaksa setuju dengan cara perkawinan mendadak. Ia mendapatkan calon suami dari Inggris bernama Andrew Jacoby. Dalam masa tunangan, banyak kejadian yang membuat Mia juga jatuh hati pada Nicholas. Nicholas yang sebenarnya hanya sebagai alat dari pamannya kehilangan kepercayaan Mia setelah mereka dijebak berduaan membuat orang berpikiran Mia ingin bersama Nicholas. Walau begitu, perkawinan tetap dilangsungkan namun dibatalkan dan Mia mengubah hukum Genovia agar calon ratu tidak perlu menikah dan otomatis, ia  menjadi ratu.
